step 1 in event management: getting the lay of the land

As we all know, event management involves a great attention to detail. The first step in overseeing the logistics is to get the lay of the land -- the floor plan of the physical space -- to have full knowledge of where every light switch is, how to adjust the climate control, is a ramp needed for a caterer or other vendors to load in and load out? Our New York City Venue Managers take the time for meetings to discuss each detail of venues to be fully prepared for any event what-if scenario.
