tips for serving staff working outside

Now that the warm weather is upon us here in New York City, outdoor social and corporate events are becoming more popular. To ensure that our staff is keeping cool, feeling good - and keeping the event schedule moving along according to plan, we wanted to share a few tips when working outdoors:

• Wear clothes made of light, breathable fabrics.
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
• Limit your physical exertion.
• Stay in shaded areas when possible.
• Certain types of medication may increase the risk of heat-related illness.
• Avoid drinking caffeine and/or sugary beverages.
